The Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA) is excited to announce opening night of the comedy The Odd Couple, Female Version by Neil Simon and directed by Chris Chiola.

Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of The Odd Couple.

Neil Simon hit a home run in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s with his original Odd Couple on Broadway, the Big Screen and TV.  In 1985 he revised his script switching the character’s genders, but the hilarity remains the same.  Rita Moreno and Sally Struthers starred in the Broadway production as Olive Madison and Florence Unger.

Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit in the dump that is her apartment.  The ladies are guessing how many times a penguin has sex while Olive is trying hard to please her guests with greasy sandwiches, stale chips and warm soda when Florence Unger walks in announcing that she has left her husband and the fun doesn’t stop there.

The cast of The Odd Couple, Female Version includes TAPA veteran Rikki Reid as Olive Madison and a newcomer to TAPA as Florence Unger – Sarajane Elkins.  The group of ladies are played by other TAPA veterans, Kelli McMellon, Lora Ressler, Sylvia Johnson and Trish Bush while Rachel Cardwell also makes her TAPA debut.  Lynn Lothman and Brett Hurliman play the two Spanish brothers who show up trying to woo Olive and Florence.

This production is brought to you by Cyndi Lewis of Rob Trost Real Estate.
