A NICE FAMILY GATHERING AT TAPA!!
The Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA) is pleased to announce the cast for the upcoming production of A NICE FAMILY GATHERING, a touching comedy written by Phil Olson and sponsored by Grocery Outlet of Tillamook. Opening night for A NICE FAMILY GATHERING is this Friday 11/3/23! TAPA would like to remind patrons who the cast members are and encourage you to purchase your tickets now at tillamooktheater.com. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, but comedies can be popular, and performances may be sold out, so it’s best not to wait.
Director Ann Harper is excited to bring the story of a family celebrating its first Thanksgiving since the death of the family’s patriarch to audiences. The cast consists of newcomers to the stage as well as seasoned veterans. The role of Carl is played by Matthew Bergkamp, Mom by Karen Downs, Dad by Fred Foster, Michael by Brice Moorman, Jill by Sarajane Elkins, Stacy by Jeannie Foster, and Jerry is portrayed by Steve Lewis. Carl, Michael, and Stacy are the adult children of Mom and Dad. Jill is Michael’s wife and Jerry is a family friend who has been invited to Thanksgiving dinner by Mom. Dad shows up to the holiday festivities as a ghost visible only to Carl. It is his first appearance at a family gathering since his funeral ten months ago and he arrives asking a favor of his son. He is less than happy that Mom has announced Jerry is her date for the day. Family dynamics and a whole lot of love take center stage in this warm, touching comedy.
Performances will be held at The Barn Community Playhouse in Tillamook on November 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18 at 7:00PM and November 5, 12, 19 at 2:00PM. Doors open one half-hour prior to curtain. As always, opening night is Gala Night where each ticket holder receives one free beverage and complimentary Hors D’oeuvres.
