“The Octette Bridge Club” Opens Aug 26th
“The Octette Bridge Club”, written by P.J. Barry, and directed by Brenna Sage, is set in Providence, Rhode Island in the 1930s and 40s. On alternate Friday evenings, eight sisters meet to play bridge and gossip. The first act takes place in 1934; the second ten years later during a Halloween bridge party where each acts out her costume’s persona. The emotionally distraught youngest, who does a hilarious Salome belly dance, has just gotten out of a sanitarium and knows that she must
cut the bonds to her smothering family and strike out on her own. Don’t miss this sentimental comedy about American life in a bygone era.
“The Octette Bridge Club” opens August 26th and runs through September 10th. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:00 pm, while Sunday matinees begin at 2:00 pm. Doors open one half hour prior to curtain.
